Notes

Eevee is the hallmark of Pokemon evolution. Itís a cute and harmless creature by itself, but it can turn into a number of fearsome beasts, depending on the circumstances. In War of the Fanboys, use Evolve to turn a card you canít use in something that might better befit the situation. The redesign of this card was conceived as an out for the Navi card, but it works beyond that because every player winds up with cards that donít fit their current strategic position, and the ability to trade them in for something different is always going to be appealing. Evolve can even be used as a way to dump a card thatís too dangerous to be held into the discard pile without using it.

The card uses art from the first Eevee card that was ever released for the Pokemon Trading Card Game. It comes from the Fossil set, which was published by Wizards of the Coast in 1999. Kagemaru Himeno captures the harmless, nonchalant nature of Eevee, as it frolics through flowers chasing butterflies.

Clarifications

Can I Evolve a card if I donít have the corresponding Hero on the board?

Yes. Of course, you wonít be able to play the card until you buy the Hero again.

What if there are no more cards left in a Hero Cardís deck?

Then that card cannot evolve.

What if there are no more Hero Cards left in any deck?

Then no cards can be evolved and the Evolve card cannot be played.

Previous Versions

Evolve suffered the same issue as the original version of Parasol: often times, when the player got the card, all Heroes were already on the board. There were two of these cards in WotF 2.0, and it seemed like they never made it to the discard pile. Perhaps if there were more than 5 Heroes, it could have been of use, but that hasnít changed, yet. Artwork is the same as the current version.
