Card Info

Title: Bomb
Cost:

2 coins

Quantity:

x2

Play:

Play before your first invasion.

Description:

Place a bomb token on an enemy land territory. Destroy 3 fanboys on that territory at the start of your next turn.

Notes

The Bomb cardís attributes were inspired by the weapon that can be thrown a distance and has a delay before activating. When placing the token, you can imagine Link hurling it above his head into enemy territory. Then, when the opponent is either moving Fanboys out of the territory to prevent losses, or into the territory to retain control of it, this is like the enemy AI moving in and out of the bombís range. Finally, returning to the playerís turn, the card stays true to the source material and explodes.

The first card shows Linkís very first game, The Legend of Zelda, originally released for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1986 and remade or rereleased on almost every Nintendo console since. Link canít toss the bombs in this game, but it featured its share of cracked dungeon walls. In Ocarina of Time, pictured in the second card, Link could finally pick up his explosives and heave them over chasms at his foes.

Alternate Artwork

Because Ocarina of Time is such a legendary game, it was easy to get carried away with its grandeur and forget all the other Zelda games.

Previous Versions

Functionally, the Bomb is unchanged. Only the phrasing was changed for clarification. The artwork came from the Ocarina of Time manual, page 23.
